I’ve got nothing but fall on my mind these days, and nothing expresses it more than these rustic colors in this BB Dakota blouse and suede fringe skirt by BCBG Max Azria. I’m so excited for the new events coming into my life this fall; I actually get to go to Fashion Week this year–and honestly–I’ve never been this stoked about something before. It’s a dream come true—thanks to Trendabl for making it all possible.

Just to fill some of the readers in before I continue telling my story—I am a huge Mariah Carey fan—I grew up jamming to Fantasy and Always Be My Baby and have never stopped. Yes, I am a “lamb.” So, the other day I found out that Mariah will be at the Harper’s Bazaar party during Fashion Week. In my head I’m like—OK—I’ve got to at least ask my contact at Trendabl if they have any connections with the magazine. So I did, and they happen to know the senior editor at Harper’s Bazaar—this—made my day, regardless of knowing if a pass is even possible. The point of the story is the “thought” of it all. I never thought a “thought” like that would even be a part of my reality, but it is.

There is a point in life where you decide what life is yours. Are you a dreamer or a realist? Are you going to make your dreams come true or are you going to slip away to the mundane. I started pursuing my dream almost a year ago. I remember when I first started blogging and my bestie in NYC, Torrence, made fun of me. He said, “What are you doing posting all these pics of yourself?” Granted, in his defense, he didn’t really know what blogging was, and it was before I actually had my website started. Everything was solely on Instagram. But what’s important here is my reply back to him, “Whatever! Make fun at me now (and I’m pretty sure I used the word ‘b**ch’ here, lol), but I will be at Fashion Week next year, mark my words.”

And here I am now, a lifelong dream near fruition. There really is something to be said about setting your intentions and sending it out to the universe. God has a special way of making things happen. So this post is really just a little story about inspiration and how thankful I am for everything. The extra work was, and will continue to be, well worth it. Keeping positive thoughts and continuous faith is a special power all in its own. I’m so grateful for the growth of my blog and my opportunities of being a part of the Huntington Quarterly magazine, and even more to be a Trendabl blogger. Check out the Trendabl website when you get the chance, it’s the ultimate one-stop-shop website, from shopping to style and beauty tips and more, you can’t ask for anything else.

Thank you for reading. Until next time.

Always be kind,

Erica
