There is something so rejuvenating to our spirits when we begin to transition our wardrobes from winter to spring. The idea of warmer weather ahead and new life blooming all around is refreshing. And if you didn’t already know, March is THE transition month to say bye-bye to your winter clothes and hello to your spring fun.

What I do, is start incorporating brighter colors. Pack up your dark hues and switch them out for brighter tones. This applies especially to blouses and tops. You can still have staple pieces, such as jackets and pants, in darker colors, but you definitely have to have a pop of color to complement and make it up-to-date seasonally. An example of this would be pairing a navy blue blazer with a bright baby blue and white striped blouse or with bright florals. Hold off on wearing any sundresses for now, wait until end of April/May to start wearing those.

Switch out the bulky sweaters for lighter options. It’s important to be creative with your layering. Play with colors and patterns to create eye-catching combinations. For some more tips on how to play with patterns, read my previous post on “How to Mix Patterns” here

Now for the look I’m wearing-

I absolutely love this French Connection jacket. It is the definition of a nice “spring” jacket. The mix of colors makes me think of coloring easter eggs, which makes it ideal. Whether you pair it with jeans, a dress or skirt, the versatility is there, plus you have an array of options in colors to work with.

The Show Me Your Mumu top was a must have for me. The rich navy color is both classic and elegant, and the modern design with the deep V’s on front and back combined with the collar was the selling point for me. It’s hard to find unique classic tops, but I definitely recommend this one. (Plus, VC Boutique is always great for having options on unique blouses.) However, be prepared to wear some pasties with it. I don’t think there is any way you could pull off wearing a bra with this top.

The Frame jeans that I’m wearing are a mid rise and hit right below the belly button. I would highly recommend these to add a little diversity to your denim wardrobe. A really big trend in the fashion world is wearing cropped EVERYTHING to show the ankles and more of the shoes. Plus, I really dig the details of color contrast at the bottom of the leg. It adds another point of interest, which is always key.

The shoes I’m wearing are old, but I have linked the closest pair I could find that resembled them the most. Hope these few tips help your spring transition to go more smoothly. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment or shoot me an email!

Until next time. Always be kind.
