This SS15 season is all about creativity, there really is no right or wrong, as long as what you create makes sense. Fashion really has evolved into a ‘whatever goes, flows’ kindof motto. However, there is one dominant trend that’s staying around and the inspiration behind it comes from the glorious 1970’s decade. Runway shows for the SS15 season created a retro revival, a flower child’s dream come true. And modern renditions of 70’s vintage continue to appear in the FW15 runway shows, setting the trend for fashion retailers worldwide.
This present-day hippie look was inspired as soon as I laid eyes on this awesome maxi skirt by Somedays Lovin’. The two side slits completely sold me! This unique skirt puts the regular maxi skirt to shame. Plus, the slits in the skirt allow your legs to breathe more during those hot, humid summer days, so if going to any music festivals this summer this is the perfect chic look.
I’ll be honest, I’m not one to wear crop tanks very often, but when paired with a higher waisted bottom- I’m okay with it. Would I feel the same way if I were wearing shorts? Probably not. I’m a big fan on balancing the amount of skin being shown. So for example, if I were wearing shorts, I would definitely do a longer, flowy tank or 3/4 sleeved linen blouse– just my personal preference. Hope you fall in love with this outfit as much as I did! Until next time.
Always be kind,
Erica
