Summer seems to be hanging on, but in just a matter of days fall temps are going to be realistic. Summer has had its fun; however, in reminiscing of it all, I can only think about the tremendous and continuous amounts of rain that dominated the July month here. Summer definitely didn’t leave an impact this year. Actually, there never came a point where I asked if fall could be here sooner than later; for some reason, summer seems almost nonexistent.
Usually the hot months are spent by the pool, having cookouts, and much more. I have found myself only to be remembered by the star gazing nights and thunderstorm watching days. As I say farewell to my summer maxi dresses, I remember that not all of these wonderful ladies have to be stowed away until next summer season. Thankfully, this year’s FW15 trends have midi length and maxi length dresses as number one hits; paired with a knee high boot or mid-calf bootie, wearing a long hem-line skirt or dress is having everyone say “Yes, to the dress!”
This Carolina K maxi dress has me thinking, how can I turn this into fall attire? I immediately think tights and boots, a fur vest with a black turtleneck, a jeans jacket, an oversized sweater and even a cocoon coat…so many creative ways it’s almost daunting! TIP: Remember that not all summer pieces have to go when transitioning your wardrobe. Key items such as the ones I mentioned above are all great accessories to help a summer item flow into fall. TIP: Designers are really into the whole 60’s mod or 70’s retro looks, so if you don’t own any turtlenecks in basic colors, I suggest to purchase one. As the basic turtleneck has made a true come back as an essential layering item for FW15.
