A New Year, Back on Black

Where to begin? There are so many things that run through my mind on a daily basis; things that I am grateful for, the future, my passions and my dispositions. 2015 was a great year, but I know 2016 is going to be waaaaaay better. I’m focused on nothing but being a mother, healthy, having love, happiness and prosperity for 2016. For those of you who actually read my blog, I apologize in the lack of posts. Fashion is one of my true passions, however it does not pay my bills, so I post when I can. But the truth of the matter is- I love my day job, and I couldn’t be happier doing what I do on a daily basis. It’s combining senior advocacy, social work and sales all into one, and I feel good about what I do every day because I feel like I help people, and families especially, to learn about resources they never knew existed. You are probably wondering, well what in the hell does she do?? I am a community relations director for an awesome assisted living community for seniors, called Broadmore Senior Living. I swear, I feel like I have been blessed with the perfect job.

 

Now don’t get me wrong, styling and fashion will always be my passion, but I think I have found two J And I feel so blessed to actually have a job that I love doing. It’s been a while since I have had that, and I don’t take it for granted. So many good things to look forward to in 2016. I am so happy for my best friend, Holli, who is now the proud owner of Village Collection boutique. I cannot wait to have more fashion adventures with her. I could not be more proud and happy for my friend’s success. It is a dream come true for her and she is ever-so deserving of it. She defines the motto of “hard work pays off”.

 

When I think of what 2016 will bring, I can only think of more happy times. My honey badger (aka Tom, my boyfriend) and I are at such a good place in our lives and things couldn’t be better between us. You know that point you reach in a relationship where the other person knows all of your flaws, beauty, tangents and sarcastic ways of thinking, and loves you beyond your judgements—that’s us—and we make humor about our downsides until the end of days. And to me, that’s a perfect relationship.

 

But, I must say, I love my new work family too. They give me so much hell about not knowing their “slang vocab” lol, but it’s okay, I know they give me a hard time because they are fond of my naïve ways. No one is perfect J

 

But this blog is dedicated to 2016…a new year, with great friends and loved ones, my healthy son, my family and blessed relationships. Cheers to the winter, because I know spring is right around the corner…and I plan on having a huge 80’s-90’s birthday bash in April J. I hope 2016 brings each of you health, happiness and much, much more ?
