Wide leg pants are making a big statement this fall/winter season. How can they be rocked the best? In my personal opinion, wide leg pants or trousers look best worn high-waisted and with heels, which both help to elongate the legs too. We all know that’s crucial. Pairing the pants with a fitted blouse or sweater is best to show off a part of your figure, and keep any vests worn with the combo at a cropped length, so your waist and figure can still be shown.

I loved this striped Finders Keepers sweater so much because the stripes are the same colors as the French flag #heritage. A striped blouse or sweater is always a good way to make a bold statement. And there are no words to describe my feelings toward these Ripley Rader wide leg pants. Super comfortable. They hit at the perfect length, just barely covering all of the shoe (which I am wearing a 3″ heel here, and my height is 5’6″, so I would say the inseam is at 33 or maybe 33 1/2 inches).  I paired this look with a cream jacket by Finders Keepers as well. The jacket has side slits that come up to the waist, which create a very interesting detail for the eye.

Another way to rock the wide leg is to create multiple, multiple layers. So the pants would be your foundation layer, then through over a dress or tunic that hits above the knee, then throw on a boxy sweater that hits right below the waist, and throw on an oversized jacket and scarf. I was serious when I said multiple layers! And it is definitely all about the layers when choosing this style. **It’s important for the layers to hit at just the lengths for them to flow well and make sense.

Whatever way you choose, remember to be creative and play around with a monochromatic or complementary color scheme. And always, always, feel comfortable in what you’re wearing.  I hope you go rock some wide leg trousers until next time 🙂

Always be kind,

Erica xx
