So I have to talk about two things here: 1) My love for this Scotch and Soda leather jacket and 2) How exciting it was working with a new photographer, Richard Crank.

There is always a kind of nervousness that comes about when working with a new photographer, because you get comfortable with people the longer you work with them, plus you have your mojo down. I was impressed with how quickly Richard got my vision and what I was going for, not to mention the many laughs. He is not only an awesome photographer with a VERY creative eye, but also a great person who is going on a mission trip in March to Haiti. He is going to lend a helping hand to all the people who were left suffering after the devastation from Hurricane Matthew in October of 2016.

Richard did not ask me to post anything about helping with his donations, but I wanted to post his Go Fund Me link here in case anyone else felt inspired, like I did, to donate. Mission trips are crucial to third world countries, and I may not be able to take time out to offer my own hand, but I look up to people that do, and in some fashion I feel like I have helped to spread some good in the world by donating. Thank you, Richard, for being an awesome person.

 Now to the fashion…

There are very few times that I splurge a lot on one item (okay maybe more than just a few) but when I first put this Scotch and Soda leather jacket on, I knew I had to have it. Once I felt the jacket I knew it was gonna be a hefty price, first thing I do is look at the price tag and say, ‘Of course!”  However, I rationalize the investment in my head for this leather jacket and know that I will definitely get my monies worth. Leather is a great investment. It holds over a decade of good wears. I still wear a leather jacket that I bought way back in the day from when I worked at Express (at a time when they still sold real leather), which is probably every bit of 10 years old.

The bottom line is that leather is worth the investment, especially when you find one that you cannot stop thinking about! It is a timeless, staple item for all wardrobes. This Scotch and Soda leather jacket will probably be my go-to for the next 10+ years or so 🙂

Here, I have it paired with a French Connection dress, with Kendra Scott earrings and black OTK boots by INC. Shop the look below!
