Let’s face it, when the warmer weather comes to stay it’s harder to create interesting looks. No one likes layering in hot weather, but layers are what make outfits great! Don’t fear the heat, for there are other options like patches, jewelry and brooches. Layering your jewelry is key to enhance the extra details. Pairing multiple delicate chains for a necklace (I would recommend up to three), as well as wearing more than just one bracelet. Try a large cuff or multiple bangles in mixed metals to enhance your look. And last, but definitely not least, is to accessorize with a necktie or a square scarf.
Square scarfs and neckties are great pieces to invest in for warmer weather. They are light weight and have way less material than the normal scarf. These make great additions to summer dresses and any kind of top whether it be sleeveless, casual or dressy. But, most preferably, I adore these accessories with off-the-shoulder tops. It fills up the blank space perfectly and in a sophisticated way.
Here, I have paired a Scotch and Soda square scarf with a French Connection off-the-shoulder top. I love the pop of color the square scarf provides with the black and white top. This type of combination is fantastic, especially when pulling your hair half back or up in a bun. The denim is by Joe’s Jeans and the bracelet is Jenny Bird. I’ve selected a handful of my favorite neckties and square scarfs to shop below, and most are under $40! Until next time. Always be kind,
