In life there are certain lessons taught, one of which is the art of letting go. For some of us this comes harder to accept than to others. Whether it be in death, relationships or materialistic things, it is hard to accept what is meant to be. When I was younger, I was that girl who had to learn the hard way. I tried to hold on to relationships that were not in my best interests, and I look back on those now and think to myself “bless her little heart.” As you age a sense of the wise becomes you, and everything that you have experienced in your life, the ups and the downs, all start to make sense and you start to see how they have shaped you as a person.
I recently experienced a loss of a pet and I ponder about the what ifs. “What if I could have done this, but if I had done this earlier.” But for what? Spiritually I know I will see them again, and my belief in that gives me a peace of mind. Life will always bring you joy and sorrow; therefore learning the art of letting go is the turnkey to a healthier mentality in the physical world. I talk to so many people who sit and think about either the past or the future and worry all day about the unknown, not once do they experience a whole hour of just enjoying the present moment during an entire day. Living in the present and accepting change are two crucial factors to living a great life. You have to surround yourself with the things you are grateful for and cherish them while you can, because there are two things for certain in life: 1) death and 2) taxes. Never take for granted the time you have with loved ones or your pets. You never know when the inevitable end to a physical life will come.
As we begin to head into the spring months I appreciate the new life that blossoms around me in nature, and become even more thankful for my health, my family’s health, as well as the well-being of my friends. I still have my mother and father here with me and for that I am overly grateful for… So when you have to experience a loss, try not to dwell on the what ifs, free your mind from those consuming thoughts and focus on the present time, because you do not get time back…
THIS LOOK:
Is a spring transitional outfit meant for mid 60 degree weather.
Current Elliot dress / BB Dakota vest / Joie OTK boots / Jenny Bird necklace / Cleobella clutch
All previously from Village Collection Boutique. OTK boots were a huge trend this fall/winter so carrying them over into spring with skirts and dresses is a good way not to have to wear hosiery to cover the leg. Pretty much anything goes nowadays as long as it looks good, sad to say, but true! Some of the highlighted new trends for spring are open shoulder blouses and off the shoulder tops/dresses as well as slip dresses. Stay tuned for more spring trends!
