New Year’s Eve is a night, which for some, will be remembered as a drunken debauchery in their best attire, and for others, a cozy night in on the couch hoping they make it until midnight. And as we all know, sometimes those celebrations can be a big hit or a total disaster, but either way, pictures will be taken and you will want to look your best. It’s the one time of year where you can go all out in a heavy sequined dress without having to attend a Gala or a Ball to make it appropriate.
Personally, I like to be comfortable, which is why I was all about this Show Me Your Mumu jumpsuit. The pant legs have tons of flow, which kind of gives the illusion of a dress, and the sparkled fabric makes it a perfect choice for New Year ’s Eve attire. Paired here with a shaggy faux fur cropped coat (by BB Dakota) and excessive jewelry, pulling in retro vibes from all angles.
One tip on this jumpsuit is if you are not a tall person, I would suggest planning on meeting with a seamstress. I am 5’7” and have heels on here, so as you can see, there is plenty of length left. I really dig excessive jewelry when dressing things up. There is something so 70’s about this look, it has me thinking of Diane von Furstenburg circa Studio 54 – the good ole days.
And please (here’s my motherhood coming out) remember, whether you are attending a house party or an event out in the public, your attire comes second to your safety. Please make sure to have your plans set for a safe night, remember to call an Uber, a taxi or your designated driver (who is a great friend).
2016 has been a great year for me, so many things to be grateful for, and I have a feeling 2017 is going to be just as amazing. I know new experiences and changes will be headed my way, thankfully, I am a person who embraces change. So cheers to a New Year and new opportunities!
Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year, and be safe!
Always be kind,
Erica xx
