There is no doubt the floral print has had it’s name in the game all year round, most notably being FW16 biggest trend. Now, it continues to dominant designs throughout almost all retailers, as well as revamp the floral approach.
We are used to florals being worn in a way that seems polished to perfection, such as the average easter dress, but this year florals are making an impact in a more modernized way. The now statement print can be mixed with destroyed denim, leather and the occasional graphic print. Not to mention the new trend of mixing floral on floral (just make sure you have a common color in both prints).
Here I have paired a BCBGeneration floral blouse that ties at the neck with a BCBG Max Azria faux leather cropped vest. The jeans are by J Brand (love the uneven hemline), the purse is GiGi New York, and the shoes are by Seychelles (older, but have linked a similar pair below). I try to always keep a classic look in mind when pairing outfits– you know, something that you could always go back to and wear again years later. I never go too far into one trend, but I do buy the occasional items to keep me up-to-date, such as the uneven hemline denim.
Denim only gets revamped every so often. I feel like over the last decade denim has basically remained the same. I love how creative designers got in renovating denim this year. I think the trend for unordinary denim will be around for several years to say the least. So you might want to consider adding an unconventional pair of jeans to your wardrobe to keep your denim game up-to-date. See below for some of my favorite jeans and to shop this look. Until next time.
Always be kind,
Erica xx
